Randy & Julie | the Maine wedding

 Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
charity envieth not;
charity vaunteth not itself,
is not puffed up,
Beareth all things, believeth all things,
hopeth all things, endureth all things.
I Corinthians 13:4 & 7

Randy is our uncle.  He's lived in the house beside Cara for years & is more like a brother to her than an uncle.  When we heard that he'd met a woman online... we thought he was crazy!  Come to find out, her family thought the same thing when Julie told them she had met a guy online!  The first time we met her, it was like she was part of the family.  She fit right in with all of us & I loved watching her & Randy together!  I've never seen him smile so much!

They had to go through a lot of things in life before they met each other, but it's really made them appreciate each other even more.  Their love is not the kind that has this idea that things will always be perfect.  They understand who each other is.  They realize the differences & laugh when Julie's sister says Julie will be the gas pedal & Randy will be the brakes... because they know it's true!  But neither one is trying to change the other to fit a mold.  They take each other for who they are.  They love each other for their differences & similarities.  So, for better or for worse, they plan to serve the Lord.  Together.

Julie is originally from Maine & that's where the rest of her family still lives, while she's been living in South Carolina for the last few years.  When it came time for the wedding, they decided to have it in a little chapel in Maine!  It seats 50 people & has no electricity.  You have to follow a single lane, gravel road to get to the chapel that sits between summer homes that people vacation in.  It was like something out of an Anne of Green Gables book!

Special recognition of family members that weren't able to make it to the wedding

These two had never met each other before the day of the wedding.  One lives in Maine & the other in North Carolina, but to watch them, you'd think they had been friends since birth!  Except for the fact that they could never get each other's name right!

The congregation sang some of Randy & Julie's favorite hymns

Sand from Maine (where Julie's from), North Carolina (where Randy's from), & South Carolina (where they're going to live).

We loved meeting Julie's family!  It was so comfortable being around them & we all talked like we had known each other for ages!  Looking forward to the next time we can all get together!

This is an accurate depiction of Randy & Micah's relationship! :)

Oreos & Milk for the reception was a big hit!

Ringing the bell

This picture & the next one are so Julie! :)  She's so fun & we just love having her in our family!

Randy didn't think it was fair that Julie had her bouquet & he had nothing, so we improvised!

Now there's two excited people!!

Thank y'all so much for letting us photograph your wedding!  We love y'all!
The bouquet had to be thrown again after the little flower girl decided she didn't want to get married!  Notice, in the left side of the picture, a perfect example of how some fathers aren't thrilled about the idea of their daughters getting married either!

Charity never faileth.
